How we fit floor fitter
- Step 1. Survey: we attend with a moisture meter and a 2m straight edge, look at your supplied flooring, confirm the spec is right for the room, and quote a fixed price for fitting plus any prep.
- Step 2. Pre-fit prep: subfloor levelling, ply overlay or DPM as required · itemised separately so you can see what is and is not in the fitting price.
- Step 3. Acclimatisation: your supplied flooring is conditioned in the room for 24–72 hours depending on product (LVT 24h, engineered wood 5–7 days, herringbone 7 days minimum).
- Step 4. Installation: bonded, click or floating depending on the product, scribed to skirtings, perimeter expansion managed, all trims fitted.
- Step 5. Sign-off: full clean-down, off-cuts left for repairs, photographs and warranty paperwork emailed within 24 hours.

How much does a floor fitter charge in West Essex?
In West Essex, fitting-only rates are £22–28/m² for LVT, £32–40/m² for engineered planks, and £45–55/m² for herringbone or chevron. Subfloor preparation is quoted separately. We give a fixed written price after a 20-minute survey · no day rates, no creep, no "we found another problem" mid-job.
Will you fit flooring I bought online or from a showroom?
Yes · most of our fitting-only jobs in West Essex are customer-supplied product. We do ask to see the spec sheet before we commit because some online flooring is fundamentally unsuitable for the room (eg laminate sold as "waterproof" that is not, or 8mm engineered boards over UFH). We will tell you honestly before you pay us a deposit.
Do you offer same-day or weekend floor fitting?
For small jobs (single bedroom, single hallway, under 12m²) we can usually book within 5–7 working days from West Essex. Weekend work is available on request with a small surcharge. Larger jobs run on a 2–3 week lead time because subfloor prep and acclimatisation cannot be rushed.
What does the 5-year fitting guarantee cover?
The LPG fitting guarantee covers lifting, peaking, gapping, adhesive failure and any installation-related defect for 5 years from the day we hand over. It does not cover wear, accidental damage or product failure (those sit under the manufacturer warranty, which we register on your behalf). One single sheet of paper, no small print, valid in West Essex and across our service area.
Do you take old flooring away?
Yes · uplift, demolition and waste disposal is included as a line item on every quote. We hold a current waste-carrier licence and dispose at a licensed transfer station in Essex. You will get the disposal note as part of the project handover pack.
